Hmm, think about it……. why not create a unique WALL GALLERY in your own home - in the living room, kitchen, man-cave, bathroom, or wherever??  Or, select a one-of a-kind print as a gift for the person who “has everything”.  Come take a look!  Photographer Barbara Moore has numerous unusual “collections” of beautiful matted and unmatted color images that you can mix and match to your heart’s content.  And while she does exhibit a few wall prints and gallery wraps, her prints are formatted to be easily framed in off-the-shelf frames available everywhere.  However, because of the sheer number of her images, she does NOT have a website. Therefore, you should come to the show to see what she has!   Each of Barbara Moore’s images is fully copyrighted.  All rights reserved.

About the Photographer

Barbara at Canyonlands, Utah - Photo by Paul Savidge

After 23 years as a professional studio photographer, in 2003 Barbara Moore retired and closed her portrait studio, Reflexions Photography, in Herndon, VA. But also, during those 23 years, she independently shot 35mm color slides of fine art nature and other images, amassing a tremendous body of work of subjects so varied as to defy categorization. She participated in a few local art shows, though restricted by studio responsibilities. Upon retirement, she donated all her cameras and equipment to a community college.

However, because her love of photography didn’t retire, in 2008 she tried out a digital camera and has now added even more images to her extensive library. It was only in the fall of 2010 that she decided to venture back into selling, and because of the phenomenal response of customers from just that one craft fair event, she is now back on the show circuit.

“I’m not interested in photo contests or hanging my work in galleries, but in getting my pictures to the people through select exceptional venues such as the Sugarloaf Festival”, she says. “My greatest joy is when someone “connects” with one of my images, especially little children, who often drag Mom back to my booth to show her something special that they’ve seen. Last year, a little girl of about 4 years old had a screaming tantrum until her Mom agreed to buy her a picture for her room - of a wrecked car!”

Barbara’s pictures show the extraordinary in the ordinary, vignettes of what is natural, but perhaps overlooked. The grandmother of nine, she is definitely not technologically advanced, preferring image truth to artistic manipulation. Most of her prints are signed and all are professionally printed. She has no plans for a website.

Barbara Moore and her husband Paul Savidge now reside in Linden, VA, high up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, 65 miles west of Washington, DC. At age 70, she still shoots nearly every day. “My body may be old, but I’m not!”, she says. Barbara can be reached by email: barbmoorephotographer@yahoo.com.
